🔼 Are You Ready For Some Football? It’s Virginia football game week — the Hoos will play their annual Spring Game this Saturday, April 12 at Scott Stadium!

🔼 Adapting To Change. When the transfer portal opened for football in December, the Virginia athletics department was ready. UVA officials had spent last summer and fall building a front office model to help head football coach Tony Elliott and his program navigate the portal and the ever-changing world of NIL compensation.

The build-out included multiple meetings with Scott Pioli, the NFL's Executive of the Decade for 2000 to 2010. In one of his fall visits to UVA, Pioli met with athletics director Carla Williams, deputy AD Tyler Jones and Elliott, among others.

🔼 Round 1. Virginia baseball plays the first of two regular-season games against Virginia Commonwealth today, traveling to Richmond for a 6:30 p.m. game against the Rams.

VCU is 10-21 so far this season and 4-8 in Atlantic 10 play. The Hoos and Rams are scheduled to meet in Charlottesville on April 29 to round out the home-and-away series.

🔼 Give Us Liberty. Virginia softball plays its first midweek road game of the season today, traveling to Lynchburg for a 6 p.m. first pitch at Liberty.

The Flames are 33-8 so far this season and 13-1 in Conference USA play, with an 18-2 record at home.
