🔼 The Pick Is In. Virginia defensive back Jonas Sanker is headed to New Orleans!
The Saints selected Sanker, a two-time First Team All-ACC selection at safety, in the third round of the NFL Draft on Friday. Sanker is the first UVA safety to be drafted since 2019, when Juan Thornhill was chosen in the second round by the Kansas City Chiefs.

🔼 Stacking Wins. Virginia baseball worked back to above .500 in ACC play over the weekend, taking two-of-three games against No. 24 Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
The Hoos won 12-9 on Friday thanks in large part to a seven-run fourth inning, won Saturday’s contest 6-5 before dropping Sunday’s series finale in another one-run game, 7-6, in 10 innings.

🔼 Out In The Trees. No. 25 Virginia softball traveled to the West Coast for an ACC series over the weekend, dropping two-of-three games at No. 15 Stanford.
The Hoos won Game 2 of the series, 9-4, with 13 hits and a pair of home runs from Jade Hylton and Kelly Ayer. Game 1 was a close 4-3 loss for the Hoos, and Sunday’s rubber match was similar — a 2-0 win for the Cardinal.

🔼 Offseason Comes Early. Virginia men’s lacrosse’s season came to an end over the weekend with its loss in the regular season finale against Duke.
There were challenges this season for the Hoos, including losing several mainstays from the 2024 NCAA semifinal team and having several five-star freshmen redshirt due to injuries.
Even so, “other guys stepped up,” head coach Lars Tiffany said after his team’s loss to Duke, pointing to the contributions of McCabe Millon, Truitt Sunderland, Ryan Colsey and Will Inderlied, among others.
