🔼 Clash Clinched. Virginia women’s golf finished stroke play at the ACC Championships in a tie for second place on Thursday, advancing to the first round of match play today and clinching this year’s Smithfield Commonwealth Clash over Virginia Tech!

The Hoos will face Cal today at 7:30 a.m. in match play.

🔼 Onto The Next Round. No. 5 seed Virginia men’s tennis picked up a win in the second round of the ACC Championships against SMU on Thursday, 4-2.

The Mustangs won the doubles point, but singles wins from Dylan Dietrich, James Hopper, Jangjun Kim and Mans Dahlberg clinched the victory for the Hoos.

Virginia next has a matchup against No. 4 seed Cal today at 3:30 p.m.

🔼 Clicking At The Right Time. With the postseason next up for No. 9 Virginia women’s lacrosse, the Hoos continue to trend in a positive direction.

“Obviously, the ACC is very strong, and I think we’ve done a lot of good work,” said Sonia LaMonica, Virginia’s second-year head coach. “Our résumé is strong.”

🔼 Ready To Roll. No. 4 seed Virginia women’s tennis gets its ACC Championships run started today, taking on No. 5 seed California in the quarterfinal round.

The Bears earned a win over No. 12 seed Louisville on Thursday to advance to Friday’s matchup with the Hoos.

🔼 Non-Con Finale. Virginia men’s lacrosse plays its final non-conference game of the regular season tomorrow, hosting Lafayette at 1 p.m. for the program’s Senior Day.

The Leopards are 8-4 this season, with a win over No. 15 Boston University in their last game.

🔼 Fun Run. Virginia track and field is at home this weekend, hosting the Virginia Challenge at Lannigan Field today and tomorrow.

🔼 Extra Innings. No. 25 Virginia softball dropped its series opener against Louisville on Thursday, 6-5, in nine innings.

The Hoos scored four runs in the seventh inning to force extra innings, but could not find the winning run.

Dom Starsia To Be Honored At USA Lacrosse Foundation Gala. The event will be held Wednesday, June 4 New York City’s Gotham Hall and will be emceed by fellow Hall of Famer and ESPN lacrosse analyst Sheehan Stanwick Burch, who is also the sister of former UVA attackman and 2011 Tewaaraton Award winner Steele Stanwick.
