🔼 Defend Home Course. No. 2 Virginia won the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial Tournament, shooting 17-under, 267 on the final day. Paul Chang shared medalist honors with William Sides (SMU) at 17-under, establishing a 54-hole tournament record. The Cavaliers finished 13 strokes ahead of second-place Florida State.

🔼 Greetings From Charlottesville. It’s the last week of spring football! Take a look at what’s going on on the field. The Spring Game will be played at Scott Stadium on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. with free admission. The game will not be televised.

🔼 Alumni Spotlight. Virginia alum Olusegun Oluwatimi went from a walk-on to a Super Bowl champion with the Seattle Seahawks. After a challenging year at the U.S. Air Force Academy, he transferred to UVA, where he excelled as a center, earning All-American honors. Oluwatimi credits his time at UVA for instilling a strong work ethic and preparing him for success in the NFL.

🔼 Fell Short. No. 9 Virginia baseball lost 6-2 to the VCU Rams despite outhitting them 12-9. Virginia left a season-high 16 runners on base, while VCU scored six unanswered runs after a leadoff home run from AJ Gracia.

🔼 Double Trouble. Virginia’s Melodie Collard and Vivian Yang were named ACC Women’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week after defeating Wake Forest and NC State.

🔼 Rockin’ Rookie. Virginia’s Andres Santamarta Roig was named ACC Men’s Tennis Freshman of the Week after clinching the Cavaliers’ win over Virginia Tech. He finished the regular season with a 13-2 record, including four wins over ranked opponents.

🔼 Took Two. Two men’s track & field athletes earned ACC honors after the Duke Invitational! Jeremiah Nubbe was named ACC Men’s Field Athlete of the Week after winning the men’s hammer throw. Liam Paneque earned Men’s Freshman of the Week after recording two personal bests in the long jump and triple jump.

🔼 Great Eight. Virginia rowing remains in the top-10 this week, coming in at No. 8 in the CRCA Poll! The Varsity Four squad was named the ACC Crew of the Week.

🔼 Record Setter. Cavalier swimmer Aimee Canny broke her own South African and African Continental Record in the 200 freestyle at the South African National Championships! She also won the 100 breaststroke and qualified for the Commonwealth Games in both events.

On August 29, 2026, Virginia and NC State will take the field at Nilton Santos Stadium in Rio de Janeiro for College Football Brasil, the first-ever FBS college football game played in South America.

The Virginia women’s tennis team won the ACC regular-season title outright for the first time in program history, finishing 12-0 in conference play! They clinched the title with a 4-2 victory over NC State, securing the number one seed in the upcoming ACC Championships. This marks the first time the Cavaliers have achieved a perfect ACC season and the third time they’ve been co-champions.
