🔼 Welcome Party. Women’s basketball head coach Aaron Roussell was introduced yesterday. Roussell, who has over two decades of head coaching experience, aims to build a program with sustained excellence and championship aspirations. UVA athletic director Carla Williams praised Roussell’s coaching ability, relationship-building skills, and appreciation for the university’s academic mission.

🔼 New Week, New Rankings. Virginia baseball moved up in the rankings after a series win over Notre Dame! D1Baseball places the Hoos at No. 9, Perfect Game ranks them at No. 16, and Baseball America at No. 23.

Virginia will play at VCU today at 3 p.m. on ESPN+.

🔼 Run It. Women’s tennis head coach Sara O’Leary and associate head coach Gina Suarez-Malaguti completed the Charlottesville Half Marathon over the weekend!

🔼  Holding Steady. No. 2 Virginia leads the Lewis Chitengwa Memorial Golf Tournament after day one, with a four-shot lead over SMU. Paul Chang leads the individual leaderboard at 10-under par, followed by a group of five players tied for second, including UVA senior Ben James.

🔼 New Role. Virginia men’s lacrosse associate head coach Kevin Cassese has been named offensive coordinator for the New York Atlas, the reigning Premier Lacrosse League champions. Cassese will continue his role at Virginia while joining a strong UVA presence on the Atlas, including Connor Shellenberger and Xander Dickson.

The Virginia women’s tennis team won the ACC regular-season title outright for the first time in program history, finishing 12-0 in conference play! They clinched the title with a 4-2 victory over NC State, securing the number one seed in the upcoming ACC Championships. This marks the first time the Cavaliers have achieved a perfect ACC season and the third time they’ve been co-champions.
