🔼 Lots Of Long Balls. No. 13 Virginia baseball started hitting home runs in the first inning against George Washington on Wednesday and then simply didn’t stop, totaling eight round-trippers in a 26-12 victory.
The eight home runs — collected by Griff O’Ferrall, Henry Ford (2), Casey Saucke, Harrison Didawick, Henry Godbout, Luke Hanson and Jacob Ference — are the second-most in a single game in program history.

🔼 Almost Time. ACC play is on the horizon for No. 13 Virginia baseball, which once again heads into conference action as one of the favorites in the league.
“We’re excited about starting conference play,” UVA head coach Brian O’Connor said Tuesday. “This is why players come to the University of Virginia and other ACC schools: It’s to play in one of the top baseball leagues in the country.”

🔼 Ranked Rout. No. 13 Virginia women’s lacrosse hosted No. 23 Richmond on Wednesday but were not gracious hosts, beating the Spiders 20-5 to improve to 6-1 on the season.
Morgan Schwab dished out a school-record eight assists in the game, while Katia Carnevale, Jenna Dinardo and Kate Galica all collected hat tricks.

🔼 Late Loss. No. 11 seed Virginia women’s basketball took a 46-35 lead over No. 14 seed Wake Forest into the fourth quarter on Wednesday, but an extended run by the Demon Deacons gave them a 58-55 victory in the first round of the ACC Tournament.
Camryn Taylor led the Hoos with 18 points, Kymora Johnson added 15 points, nine rebounds and five assists, and Paris Clark had seven points, six rebounds and six assists.
