🔼 Philly Special. The red-hot Virginia softball team takes a break from ACC action this weekend, traveling to Philadelphia for a two-game series against Villanova starting today at 4:30 p.m.

The Wildcats carry their own momentum into the series as winners of 10 straight, and are 9-0 thus far in Big East play.

🔼 Top-10 Dub. No. 6 Virginia women’s tennis picked up a big win Thursday, beating No. 10 NC State 5-2 at the Virginia Tennis Facility at the Boar’s Head Resort.

The Hoos received singles victories from Hibah Shaikh, Annabelle Xu, Sara Ziodato, Natasha Subhash and Melodie Collard to clinch the win.

🔼 Record Broken. Day Two of the NCAA Men’s Swimming and Diving Championship was highlighted by Tim Connery, who set the Virginia program record in the 200 individual medley with a time of 1:41.70 in the prelims of the race, finishing 13th in the finals.

🔼 Poison Ivy. No. 2 Virginia men’s lacrosse travels with its five-game win streak up to Cambridge, Mass. this weekend for a matchup against No. 16 Harvard tomorrow at noon.

The Crimson are 6-2 this season, the two losses coming in the last two games against No. 10 Yale and No. 14 Princeton.

🔼 Down To Duke. No. 8 Virginia women’s lacrosse is also on the road this weekend, heading down to Durham, N.C. to face Duke tomorrow at 1 p.m.

One game separates Virginia and Duke in the ACC standings — the Hoos are currently 3-2 in conference action, while the Blue Devils sit at 2-3.

🔼 Streak Snapped. No. 9 Virginia baseball had its six-game win streak snapped on Thursday, losing its series opener at Duke, 9-4.

Henry Godbout drove in two for the Hoos, while Ethan Anderson recorded the only extra-base hit for the visitors.

Game Two of the series begins today at 6 p.m.

🔼 Golf In Georgia. Virginia women’s golf is in the Peach State today and tomorrow to play in the 52nd Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic at the UGA Golf Course in Athens, Ga.
