Casey Saucke once again had a big day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs scored. Henry Godbout was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three driven in.
🔼 Nothing Allowed. An RBI each from Kelsey Hackett and Abby Weaver was more than enough for Virginia softball on Tuesday, as Eden Bigham kept Rutgers quiet in a 2-0 win for the Hoos.
Courtney Layne threw the first two scoreless innings for the Cavaliers, before turning things over to Bigham for the final five innings.
🔼 History Made. Virginia’s Connor Shellenberger scored his second point against Albany in the third quarter on Tuesday, and with it, became the program’s all-time leading scorer in the Hoos’ 16-10 win.
Shellenberger, who now has 282 points, passed former teammate Matt Moore, who set the previous record in 2022.
🔼 Not Enough. No. 10 seed Virginia men’s basketball fell in a First Four matchup on Tuesday to No. 10 seed Colorado State, 67-42.
Reece Beekman led the Hoos with 15 points and four assists.
🔼 Put Your Dukes Up. No. 9 Virginia women’s lacrosse plays its second top-10 opponent of the season today, hosting No. 6 James Madison at 5 p.m.
The Dukes are 7-1 this season, its one loss at then-No. 9 Maryland back on March 10.
