The family of the late David and Mary Harrison, two of the University of Virginia’s most generous benefactors, has made a pair of commitments totaling $55 million to the Olympic Sports Center in the Department of Athletics to create a leading-edge translational research program dedicated to the next generation of therapies for Alzheimer’s and related diseases.

🔼 Home For A Minute(man). No. 13 Virginia baseball gets to spend this weekend at home, welcoming UMass to town for a three-game series starting today at 3 p.m. at the Dish.
🔼 Downed In Durham. Virginia women’s basketball couldn’t overcome a down shooting night on the road at Duke, falling 73-54 to the Blue Devils at Cameron Indoor Stadium.
Kymora Johnson scored a game-high 14 points for the Hoos, and was joined in double figures by Paris Clark (12) and Camryn Taylor (11).
Virginia finishes up the regular season at home this Sunday in the latest edition of the Smithfield Commonwealth Clash against Virginia Tech.

Virginia women’s lacrosse also has a big-time matchup this weekend, traveling to Clemson to take on the No. 18 Tigers in its second ACC matchup of the season already.
🔼 ACC Action. Virginia softball couldn’t have picked a better time to start conference play, riding a seven-game win streak into its three-game series at home against Boston College this weekend.
🔼 Test Time. No. 8 Virginia men’s tennis opens up ACC play at home this weekend, welcoming No. 3 Wake Forest to town today at 3 p.m. and No. 17 NC State on Sunday at 1 p.m.
The No. 5 Virginia women are set for their third and fourth ACC duals of the season, traveling to Atlanta today for a 4 p.m. contest against Georgia Tech and Clemson on Sunday to play the Tigers at 11 a.m.
