🔼 Moving On! No. 10 seed Virginia women’s basketball won its opening game at the ACC Tournament for the first time since 2019 on Wednesday, defeating No. 15 seed Pitt, 64-50, in Greensboro, N.C.

Kymora Johnson led the way with 17 points and seven assists, while Latasha Lattimore collected her 11th double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Virginia will take on No. 7 seed California today at 5 p.m. on the ACC Network.

🔼 March Momentum. They had multiple opportunities to fold against Florida State at John Paul Jones Arena. Each time, though, the Virginia Cavaliers persevered, much as they had in January after a heartbreaking home loss to SMU that followed a disastrous California trip.

They saw their resilience rewarded again late Wednesday night. When the final horn sounded, the Cavaliers celebrated a 60-57 victory over an opponent that has had more success than most visiting teams at JPJ over the years.

🔼 Stepped On The Spiders. No. 14 Virginia women’s lacrosse improved to 4-2 on Wednesday, winning 14-9 at Richmond.

Madison Alaimo led the way for the Hoos with six points (three goals, three assists), followed by Jenna DiNardo and Kate Miller, who both registered three points.

🔼 Next Up, NCAAs. The four-time reigning NCAA Champion and top-ranked Virginia women’s swimming and diving team has had 18 swimmers qualify for the 2025 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships!

The women’s championships will be held at Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatics Center in Federal Way, Washington, from Wednesday, March 19 to Saturday, March 22 and will be streamed on ESPN+.

Kymora Johnson Named All-ACC First Team Selection. Johnson is the first UVA player to earn All-ACC First Team honors as a sophomore since Schuye LaRue did so in 2001. She is one of just four underclassmen to be named to the team this season.
