🔼 Hot Start. Virginia baseball picked up a win in Game 1 of its series against No. 20 Stanford on Thursday, 11-8, at the Dish.
Chris Arroyo, Henry Godbout and James Nunnallee all drove in two runs for the Hoos, who got six solid innings out of Jay Woolfolk on the mound.
Game 2 of the series will begin at 6 p.m. today.

🔼 Last Swim. Virginia men’s swimming is through two days at the NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Wash., with a new school record falling on Day 1.
The 800 Free Relay team of David King, Sebastien Sergile, Jack Aikins and Hayden Bellotti swam the event in 6:11.30, finishing 13th and setting a program record.
The Hoos had four individuals swim on Thursday, with Spencer Nicholas placing 21st in the 200 IM to highlight competition.

🔼 Orange Juice. Virginia men’s lacrosse has a chance to grab a marquee win this weekend, hosting No. 8 Syracuse for its ACC opener at Klöckner Stadium tomorrow at 1 p.m.
The Orange are 7-2 so far this season and carry a four-game win streak into tomorrow’s game.

🔼 On The Road. No. 11 Virginia women’s lacrosse hits the road this weekend, traveling to Syracuse to play the No. 8 Orange tomorrow at noon.
The Orange are 7-4 overall this season and 3-2 in ACC play.

🔼 Gold Dome. No. 22 Virginia softball is on the road for the first time in three weeks this weekend, traveling to South Bend, Ind., for three games against Notre Dame.
The Irish are 14-19 this season and 2-7 so far in ACC play.

🔼 Home Cookin’. No. 5 Virginia women’s tennis plays a pair of home matches this weekend, welcoming Louisville (9-6, 1-5 ACC) to town today at 4 p.m. and Notre Dame (14-13, 4-2 ACC) this Sunday at 11 a.m.

🔼 Out And About. No. 5 Virginia men’s tennis leaves Charlottesville this weekend for a pair of road matches, first playing at Notre Dame (11-10, 0-8 ACC) today at 5 p.m. before heading to Louisville (7-14, 0-8 ACC) on Sunday at noon.

🔼 On The Water. Virginia rowing kicks off its spring season this weekend, traveling to Columbus, Ohio, tomorrow for the B1G/ACC Regatta against Ohio State and Michigan.

🔼 Conference Acclaim. Four Hoos on both the men’s and women’s squash teams have been named to the All-MASC teams!
The men are represented by Karim Elbarbary, JP Tew, Juan Jose Torres Lara and Dylan Moran, while the women were represented by Meagan Best, Lina Tammam, Maria Min and Maria Moya.

NCAA Crown Caps Banner Season For Relay Team. At the NCAA Indoor Championships, no team has ever run the race faster than the University of Virginia’s foursome of Wes Porter, Alex Sherman, Conor Murphy and Gary Martin. They won the first DMR national title in program history March 14 in Virginia Beach, where they broke the meet and facility records by crossing the finish line in a time of 9:15.12.
