🔼 Bears Come East. No. 23 Virginia softball closes out its homestand this weekend with three games against Cal at Palmer Park.

The Bears are 22-5 so far this season and 5-1 in their inaugural ACC slate with series wins over Boston College and Georgia Tech.

🔼 Devils In Town. No. 23 Virginia baseball plays its second ACC home series this weekend, welcoming Duke to the Dish for a three-game set starting today at 6 p.m.

The Blue Devils are 13-9 this season, winning their first conference series against Cal and losing their most recent against No. 18 Stanford.

🔼 Day One Down. Three Virginia wrestlers will advance to the second day of competition today at the NCAA Championships in Philadelphia — Dylan Cedeno, Jack Gioffre and Nick Hamilton all split matches on Thursday.

Gioffre pulled one of the biggest upsets of the day, as the No. 29 seed at 149 pounds beat No. 4 seed Paniro Johnson of Iowa State in the first round.

🔼 Back Home. Winners of two straight, No. 12 Virginia women’s lacrosse welcomes Pitt to Klöckner Stadium tomorrow at 3 p.m. for Youth Day/One Love.

The Panthers are 5-4 so far this season and 1-3 in ACC play with a win over Cal back on March 8.

🔼 Homestand Continues. Virginia men’s lacrosse plays its third consecutive home game tomorrow, hosting Utah at noon at Klöckner Stadium.

The Utes are 1-6 this season and have lost six in a row since winning their season opener against then-No. 19 Ohio State.

🔼 West Comes East. Virginia women’s and men’s tennis have mirror schedules this weekend at the Boar’s Head Resort — both teams host Cal today and welcome Stanford to town on Sunday.

🔼 Fresh Air. Virginia track and field gets outside for the first time this weekend, hosting the Virginia Opener tomorrow at Lannigan Field.

🔼 Headphones In. After graduating from Harvard last spring, tight end Tyler Neville, who grew up in Williamsburg, transferred to UVA. Neville put up strong numbers for the Hoos last season—37 catches for 394 yards and two TDs—and is a candidate to be picked in next month's NFL draft.
