📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Give Us Liberty. No. 16 Virginia women’s lacrosse opened its season on the road this past weekend but felt right at home against Liberty, winning 14-6 to kick off its season.

Katia Carnevale led the way with four goals for the Hoos.

And as the Hoos’ encore, they erased a two-goal deficit in the second half against Stanford on Sunday to win 10-9 to start the season 2-0!

🔼 Win At Wake. Virginia women’s basketball received a career-high 22 points from Olivia McGhee in a 87-79 road win at Wake Forest on Sunday.

Kymora Johnson scored 23 points of her own, and added six rebounds and seven assists to stuff the stat sheet.

🔼 Eight Is Great. Last week we said Virginia men’s basketball is the hottest team in the ACC. It might just be the hottest team in the country after a road win against Florida State, 80-76, over the weekend to make it eight straight wins!

🔼 Top-10 Triumph. No. 3 Virginia men’s lacrosse looked like it was in mid-season form in its season opener against No. 8 Michigan, never trailing the Wolverines in a 19-11 win at Klöckner Stadium.

Nine Hoos scored, with Payton Cormier and McCabe Millon scoring five goals each.

🔼 Records, Records. On Day 1 of the Cavalier Invite, Virginia swimming & diving set a pair of Aquatic and Fitness Center pool records.

What did the Hoos do for an encore on Day 2? Set two more!

🔼 Mile-Stone Passed. Virginia men’s track & field has a new all-time fastest miler, as Gary Martin finished in a blistering 3:54.73, the second-fastest time in the ACC this season.

On top of that, the women’s DMR team of Anna Workman, Alahna Sabbakhan, Maggie Hock and Margot Appleton re-set their own school record and jumped into the nation’s top-six in the event.

🔼 Winning Weekend. Virginia softball came out ahead after its first weekend of play, winning three of five games in South Carolina.

The Hoos took down UNCG (x2) and Jacksonville State to begin the slate 3-0, before falling twice to No. 23 South Carolina to round things out.

🔼 Winning Ways. The Virginia women saved the best for last during their stint at the ITA Indoor Championships, sweeping No. 1 North Carolina to finish competition in Seattle. Earlier in the weekend, the Hoos took down No. 6 Pepperdine and fell to No. 5 Michigan.

🎾 RECAPS: Pepperdine | Michigan | North Carolina

No. 6 Virginia men’s tennis got back in the win column over the weekend, winning 4-0 against No. 24 Georgia with singles wins from Chris Rodesch, Dylan Dietrich and James Hopper.

🔼 Learning And Growing. Virginia wrestling ran into a talented NC State team over the weekend, as the No. 8 Wolfpack took down the Hoos, 38-3.

Justin McCoy picked up the lone win for the Hoos, a ranked victory to improve to 15-3 on the season.

🔼 ‘Til The End. Virginia men’s and women’s squash both lost Mid-Atlantic Squash Conference Championship matchups on Sunday.

The No. 9 Virginia men fell to No. 8 Drexel, while the No. 5 women were defeated by No. 7 Stanford.
