Women's swimming claimed ACC superiority once again over the weekend!

🔼 Back-To-Back-To-Back-To-Back-To-Back-To-Back. Virginia women’s swimming and diving claimed its sixth consecutive ACC championship on Saturday and the 21st overall in the program’s history!

The UVA women totaled 1451.5 points, besting second-place Stanford by 310.5 points. The Cavalier men finished eighth.

🔼 Record Shattered. The Virginia track and field quartet of Wes Porter, Conor Murphy, Alex Sherman and Gary Martin made history at the Arkansas Qualifier, shattering the NCAA record in the distance medley relay in a time of 9:14.19, the fastest time in the world on a 200-meter track.

🔼 Sunday Funday. Virginia women’s basketball got back in the win column on Sunday, earning a 89-69 victory over Stanford at John Paul Jones Arena.

Kymora Johnson became the 37th member of the 1,000-point club for the Virginia women’s basketball program on Sunday, scoring a season-high 33 points while adding 12 assists and eight rebounds.

🔼 Connect Four. Virginia softball was perfect over the weekend, winning each of its four matchups at the Mizuno Classic at Palmer Park.

The Hoos played a doubleheader on both Saturday and Sunday against Penn and Delaware, winning both, and outscoring their opponents 24-5 in those four games. Virginia finishes up play at the Mizuno Classic today with a 2:30 p.m. game against Longwood.

🔼 ACC Action. No. 2 Virginia women’s tennis got ACC play started this past weekend, winning a pair of matchups against No. 19 Clemson and Georgia Tech in Charlottesville.

The Hoos swept Clemson 4-0 on Friday before beating Georgia Tech, 4-2, on Sunday.

🔼 Texas Takeaways. No. 2 Virginia baseball dropped two of its three games at the Karbach Round Rock Classic in Texas this weekend, falling to No. 7 Oregon State and Oklahoma, and picking up a win against Minnesota.

The Hoos’ rubber match against the Sooners on Sunday lasted 12 innings, when Oklahoma walked off with a 5-4 win.

🔼 Road Tripped. Virginia men’s basketball fell on the road at North Carolina on Saturday, 81-66.

Isaac McKneely was the leading Hoo, scoring 17 points and surpassing the 1,000-point mark in his career midway through the second half. Dai Dai Ames scored in double figures for the sixth game in a row, adding 12 points.

🔼 In The Trees. No. 7 Virginia women’s lacrosse fell in its ACC opener on Saturday, 13-7, to No. 14 Stanford at Klöckner Stadium.

Madison Alaimo tallied three points (one goal, two assists) for the Hoos, and Jenna Dinardo scored two goals.

🔼 Challenge In Columbus. Despite grabbing early momentum with the first goal of the game, No. 12 Virginia men’s lacrosse fell to Ohio State on the road this weekend, 14-5.

Ryan Colsey scored four of the Hoos’ five goals, and assisted on the fifth.

🔼 Postseason Prepped. The postseason is next for Virginia wrestling, as the Hoos wrapped up its regular season over the weekend with a 23-13 loss to No. 18 Pitt.

Jack Gioffre (149 pounds), Nick Hamilton (165 pounds), Gable Porter (133 pounds) and Dylan Cedeno (141 pounds) all earned victories for the Hoos.

🔼 Leading The Charge. The World Amateur Golf Rankings are out, and Virginia men’s golf is the only school in the country with five players in the top-100!
