🔼 Aced It. Virginia men’s golf finished play at the Puerto Rico Classic on Wednesday, finishing in seventh place in a competitive field.

Wednesday’s play was highlighted by Paul Chang’s hole-in-one on the 168-yard Par 3 16th hole, the first ace by a Hoo since 2019. Chang was Virginia’s top finisher at the tournament, earning a ninth-place finish.

🔼 Beach Trip. Virginia softball is in Clearwater, Fla. this weekend for five games at the Shriners Children’s Clearwater Invitational.

The Hoos will play Kentucky today at 2 p.m., followed by matchups with Auburn, Texas A&M, San Diego State and UCLA throughout the course of the weekend.

🔼 Bigger Than Basketball. Virginia men’s hoops spent some time recently with the Greater Virginia chapter of Make-A-Wish!

🔼 Next Great Thrower. At 6-foot-3, 255 pounds, Jeremiah Nubbe does not lack brawn. As an aerospace engineering major, he has plenty of brains, too, and that occasionally poses problems for Nubbe, according to his throws coach in the University of Virginia track & field program.

“He’s almost too intelligent,” said Brandon Amo, who previously coached at Harvard.

Gary Martin Named ACC Cross Country Scholar-Athlete of the Year. The American Studies and Media Studies major continues to add to his list of honors following an All-American campaign in cross country. Martin won the ACC Cross Country Championships for the fourth time in program history setting the championships record with his time of 22:17.6 for the 8k course.
