🔼 Broken Records. Virginia distance runners Gary Martin and Margot Appleton began their indoor track seasons in midseason form over the weekend, both taking down their own school records in Boston.
The duo both registered 10-second personal bests in their respective 3000-meter races, Appleton finishing in 8:46.23 and Martin in 7:36.09.
🔼 Twice Is Nice. Virginia wrestling improved its dual record to 4-1 over the weekend, earning a pair of dominant victories over Penn and VMI.
The Hoos took down Penn, 25-11, in Charlottesville on Friday before traveling to Lexington, Va. on Saturday and winning 40-3 against VMI.

🔼 Last Match. Virginia volleyball saw its season come to an end on Sunday, losing to St. John’s in the second round of the National Invitational Volleyball Championship at Memorial Gymnasium.
The Hoos finished the season at 21-11 overall and 11-9 in ACC play, their most wins since 2006 and first time finishing with a record above .500 in conference play since 2014.
🔼 Back Home Soon. Virginia men’s basketball fell on the road at SMU in its ACC opener on Saturday, 63-51. The loss snapped a streak of 16 straight ACC-opening wins for the Hoos.
Isaac McKneely was the lone Hoo in double figures with 17 points, shooting 4-of-8 from deep.
Virginia is back home on Thursday, tipping off against Bethune-Cookman at 7 p.m.

🔼 ACC Is Here. Despite a career day from Latasha Lattimore, Virginia women’s basketball fell in its ACC opener on Sunday, 72-57, against Boston College at John Paul Jones Arena.
Lattimore scored a season-high 23 points for the Hoos and was one rebound shy of her fourth double-double of the season. Kymora Johnson added 11 points, six steals and four assists.
