🔼 The Hoos Are Bowling. No. 20/19 Virginia football has accepted a bid to play in the TaxSlayer Gator Bowl against No. 25 Missouri on Saturday, Dec. 27 in Jacksonville, Fla.!
Virginia will play in its 22nd bowl game and make its third appearance in the Gator Bowl (1991, 2008, 2025). After winning six of the first seven games of the 2025 season, the Cavaliers became bowl-eligible for the first time since 2021 and will play in its first bowl game since the 2019 Orange Bowl. The 2021 Fenway Bowl was canceled due to COVID issues.

🔼 Hoos Fly High! Virginia men’s basketball improved to 8-1 over the weekend in front of what felt like a home crowd in Charlotte, beating Dayton, 86-73.
Jacari White had a perfect night, scoring 25 points on 9-of-9 shooting, including 7-of-7 from 3-point range. Chance Mallory joined White in double figures with 12 points.

🔼 Milestone Moment! Virginia women’s hoops earned a historic win on Sunday in its ACC opener at Boston College, beating the Eagles, 81-55, for the program’s 1,000th victory.
Kymora Johnson (13 points) and Paris Clark (13) led the Cavaliers on the stat sheet while Sa’Myah Smith (12), Gabby White (12), Tabitha Amanze (11) and Romi Levy (11) rounded out Virginia’s season-high six players who scored in double figures.

🔼 Hot Start. Virginia track and field’s Gary Martin was in midseason form in the Hoos’ indoor season opener over the weekend, shattering his own school record in the men’s 5,000-meter!
Taking down his previous program record of 13:30.69 from the ACC Indoor Championships earlier this year, Martin crossed the line in a 25 second indoor personal best of 13:05.57 to finish third overall. With his time, the senior broke the ACC record in the event which previously stood at 13:09.30 by Adriaan Wildschutt of Florida State in 2022. His time also ranks No.6 all-time in NCAA history.

🔼 Take A Bow. Virginia freshman swimmer Sara Curtis won seven medals, helped set a world record, an individual European record and four individual national records at the 2025 European Aquatics Short Course Swimming Championships in Lublin, Poland!

🔼 Twice The Fun! Virginia wrestling earned another pair of wins on Sunday to push its record to 5-2 so far this season!
The Hoos shut out both their opponents, defeating Bridgeport 56-0 before downing East Stroudsburg 49-0.

Tony Elliott Named ACC Coach of the Year. In his fourth year at the helm, Elliott has guided Virginia to its second-ever 10-win season. The Cavaliers earned a spot in Saturday’s ACC Championship game for only the second time in program history and are ranked No. 16 in The Associated Press Top-25 poll. A Broyles Award winner as an assistant in 2017 at Clemson, it marks the first ACC Coach of the Year honor for Elliott and the first by a UVA head coach since 2011.
