🔼 College Football’s Finest. Virginia football head coach Tony Elliott has been named one of 12 finalists for the 2025 Eddie Robinson Award!

Elliott is the first UVA coach ever to be named a finalist for the award, annually recognizing the top FBS coach since 1957.

🔼 Opportunity Awaits. Virginia football fielded its first varsity team in 1888. Since then, the Wahoos have had two 10-win seasons. The first was in 1989, when they finished 10-3. The Hoos are 10-3 again this year, so a season-ending win would give them a program-record 11th victory.

“I want that 11th ,” UVA head coach Tony Elliott said Saturday night in Charlotte, N.C., after his team’s overtime loss to Duke in the ACC championship game. “I think everybody in that locker room wants that 11th.”

🔼 Hot Shot. No. 24 Virginia men’s basketball pushed its record to 9-1 on Tuesday, winning 84-60 over Maryland Eastern Shore inside John Paul Jones Arena!

Seven players made at least one trey apiece for UVA, which finished 13 of 31 (41.9%) from beyond the arc. Sam Lewis led the Hoos with 15 points.

🔼 Starting A Staycation. Virginia women’s basketball begins a four-game homestand today, welcoming Howard (7-4) to John Paul Jones Arena at 7 p.m.

The Hoos won’t travel again until the new year, hosting Winthrop (Dec. 20), SMU (Dec. 29) and Clemson (Jan. 1).

🔼 Soccer Star! Virginia men’s soccer freshman Nick Simmonds has been named a semifinalist for the MAC Hermann Trophy, awarded annually to the nation’s top collegiate player!

🔼 Region’s Best! Virginia volleyball outside hitter Reagan Ennist has been named the AVCA East Coast Region Freshman of the Year!

Ennist becomes the third Cavalier to earn AVCA region Freshman of the Year honors and the first since Anna Walsh in 2015. Overall, she is the 23rd UVA volleyball player to garner All-Region team recognition.

🔼 Freaky Fast! Virginia track and field’s Gary Martin is the ACC Men’s Track Athlete of the Week after setting an ACC record in the men’s 5,000-meter at the Sharon Colyear-Danville Season Opener!
