🔼 Hosting The Hokies. It’s rivalry time! Virginia men’s basketball hosts Virginia Tech at 7 p.m. for the latest iteration of the Smithfield Commonwealth Clash!
The Hoos have a chance to run their home record to 10-0 with a win over the Hokies, which would also get them back to .500 in ACC play.
The two teams have split their previous six matchups, with the Hokies winning most recently last February in Blacksburg.
🔼 Off To A Good Start. One week, one conference award for Virginia men’s tennis — James Hopper is the ACC Player of the Week!
Hopper went 2-0 at the top doubles position last weekend, and picked up a pair of singles victories against Liberty and James Madison.

🔼 Rankings Roll In. We’re officially less than a month away from Virginia baseball kicking off its season against Hofstra in Charlottesville on Friday, Feb. 16!
And with the season closing in, rankings are starting to roll out — the Hoos come in at No. 14 in the D1Baseball Preseason Poll!

🔼 Going Global. A pair of Virginia men’s soccer alums are playing on a big stage!
Defender Oliver Gerbig started and played the full 90 minutes in Hong Kong’s opening game at the Asian Cup, while Irakoze Donasiyano made his second international cap last week for Burundi.
Smithfield, Official Sponsor of the Commonwealth Clash, is challenging all fans attending the men’s basketball game vs. Virginia Tech to bring in nonperishable food items, which will be collected and donated to the University of Virginia’s Community Food Pantry following the game. For every pound of food collected, Smithfield will donate $1 to the food pantry up to $5,000!
