🔼 Leaving The Country Roads. Virginia men’s basketball has a border battle tonight against West Virginia, although the Hoos and Mountaineers will tip it up in Fort Myers, Fla.

Both UVA and WVU fell in its respective Fort Myers Tip-Off openers — Virginia to Wisconsin, and West Virginia to SMU.

🔼 Rivalry Week. The Smithfield Commonwealth Clash is back on the gridiron! Virginia football head coach Tony Elliott was with the media on Tuesday, discussing the Hoos’ upcoming home matchup against Virginia Tech.

🔼 Welcome, Wolfpack. Virginia volleyball finishes up its home slate this evening against NC State at Memorial Gym.

A win against the Wolfpack, who are currently sitting in fifth place in the ACC standings, would move Virginia’s home record back to .500 for the season.

🔼 New Leader. Virginia director of athletics Carla Williams announced on Tuesday that Ole Keusgen has been hired as the newest head coach of the Virginia field hockey program!

Keusgen replaces Michele Madison, who led the program for 18 years, and will be the ninth head coach in program history. He was hired as an assistant coach for the Hoos in 2015 and has spent nine seasons with the program.

⚔️ Gretchen Walsh Named ACC Women’s Swimmer Of The Week. Walsh swam two of the fastest times ever recorded as she led Virginia to a first-place finish at the Tennessee Invite.
