🔼 Back And Forth. Virginia football gave No. 11 Louisville all it could handle on Thursday night, but fell just short in a back-and-forth 31-24 loss.

After falling behind 14-0, the Hoos scored 21 straight points to take a seven-point lead. A strong fourth quarter from the Cardinals gave them the win, however.

🔼 Early-Season Test. Virginia men’s basketball travels to Charlotte, N.C. tonight for a matchup with the Florida Gators as part of the HOF Series.

The Gators sport a 1-0 record at this point, winning 93-73 over Loyola Maryland in their season opener on Monday.

🔼 Dance Party. Virginia field hockey begins NCAA Tournament play this afternoon in College Park, Md. with a matchup against St. Joseph’s!

The trip to the NCAA Tournament is Virginia’s 27th overall, and 15th in the last 18 years.

If the Hoos win this afternoon, they will advance to take on the winner of Maryland-Old Dominion on Sunday afternoon.

🔼 Hardwood Hosts. Virginia women’s basketball is back in John Paul Jones Arena this Sunday, hosting Campbell for a 2 p.m. tip.

Campbell is 1-0 so far with a big 108-37 win over NC Wesleyan, and plays Coppin State tonight in Baltimore before heading to Charlottesville on Sunday.

🔼 Run And Advance. Virginia cross country is running at the NCAA Southeast Regional in Spartanburg, S.C. this weekend in hopes of returning home to run at the NCAA Cross Country Championships at Panorama Farms in Charlottesville on Nov. 18.

The top two teams at the Southeast Regional will automatically qualify for the NCAA Championships.

🔼 Fighting The Irish. Virginia volleyball has just one match this weekend, a Sunday contest at home against Notre Dame.

The Irish are 10-12 on the season and 4-10 in ACC play. The Hoos traveled to South Bend earlier this season, and fell in four sets to Notre Dame.

🔼 Lacrosse Leader. Virginia men’s lacrosse head coach Lars Tiffany is this week’s guest on the Wahoo Central Podcast!

Tiffany discussed offseason developments for his team and looked ahead to the 2024 season.
