🔼 Happy Hoops Season! The wait is officially over — Virginia women’s basketball tips off its regular season today at home against American at 7 p.m.!
The Hoos are coming off a 2023-24 season in which they went 16-16 overall and 10-8 at home.
🔼 Tear The Tape. Virginia men’s cross country runner Gary Martin claimed the crown at the ACC Championships over the weekend, winning the men’s 8K in a record-breaking time of 22:17.6.
As a group, both the Virginia men and women finished fourth at the ACC Championships. Margot Appleton led the women, finishing seventh a new personal best time of 19:44.0.
🔼 Extra Credit. No. 3 Virginia field hockey wrapped its regular season in exciting fashion over the weekend, beating Wake Forest in double overtime to finish at 13-3 overall and 6-2 in ACC play.
The Hoos earned the No. 4 seed in this week’s ACC Tournament, and will play No. 5 Syracuse tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. in Winston-Salem, N.C.
🔼 Split Swim. Virginia men’s and women’s swimming and diving split their dual meets at North Carolina over the weekend, with the No. 1 women winning 213.5-85.5 and the men falling 208.5-91.5.
🔼 Hot Start. Virginia wrestling began its season with a successful weekend, dominating North Dakota State, 31-6, on Friday before competing at the Southeast Open in Roanoke on Saturday.
The Hoos won eight matches against the Bison, and Brenan Morgan won the heavyweight title in the Freshman/Sophomore Division at the Southeast Open to highlight the competition.

🔼 Double Dip. Virginia volleyball played host to a pair of ranked opponents at Memorial Gym this past weekend, losing in three sets to both No. 1 Pitt and No. 12 SMU.
A total of 1,150 fans came out on Friday to watch the Hoos take on the Panthers, the largest crowd ever to watch a volleyball match in Memorial Gym’s history.
