🔼 Midweek Dub. Virginia men’s basketball got back into the win column on Tuesday, beating Manhattan, 74-65, at John Paul Jones Arena.

Isaac McKneely led the scoring charge with 18 points, followed by Andrew Rohde (14), Blake Buchanan (11), Dai Dai Ames (10) and Jacob Cofie (10) in double figures.

🔼 Rivalry Week. Virginia football head coach Tony Elliott said at his Tuesday press conference that he’s framing this year’s Smithfield Commonwealth Clash differently for his players, drawing on his experience with the Clemson-South Carolina rivalry.

Elliott, who played and coached at Clemson, said he wants his players to understand “the big picture, what it means. It’s not just a game that you play because it’s the last one on the schedule. It’s one that’s a season of itself. It lasts for 365 days. It means a lot to a lot of people … We don’t have a choice. We’ve got a responsibility.”

🔼 Hoos And Heels. Virginia volleyball plays one final regular season road match today, traveling to Chapel Hill, N.C. to take on No. 25 North Carolina at 2 p.m.

The Tar Heels (12-6) are currently one game ahead of the Hoos (11-7) in the ACC standings.

🔼 Made A Splash. Virginia swimmer Claire Curzan has been named the ACC Swimmer of the Week!

Curzan set an American, NCAA, US Open, UVA, meet and pool record in the 200 Backstroke on Friday (Nov. 22) at the Tennessee Invitational, swimming a 1:46.87. She broke Regan Smith’s American record of 1:47.16 set in 2019 and Beata Nelson’s NCAA mark of 1:47.24 from that same year. Courtney Bartholomew set the previous Virginia record of 1:49.35 in 2015.
