🔼 Time For Tipoff! Basketball season is officially here, basketball fans — Virginia women’s basketball hosts Maryland Eastern Shore today at 6 p.m. in its regular season opener at John Paul Jones Arena!

🔼 Call It Even. Virginia men’s soccer battled No. 18 Pitt to a scoreless draw on Friday night in its regular season finale at Klöckner Stadium to finish the regular season at 7-6-3 overall and 3-3-2 in ACC play.
The Hoos have earned the No. 9 seed in the ACC Championships and will face No. 8 seed Notre Dame on Wednesday in South Bend, Ind.
🔼 Halloween Hiccup. To knock off No. 14 Wake Forest, Virginia needed to play inspired football Saturday. The opposite occurred at Allegacy Stadium. The Cavaliers struggled in all three phases and lost 51-7 to the Demon Deacons.
Wake scored on each of its first nine possessions and punted only once, with 2:00 left in the game. The Demon Deacons, who led 20-0 at halftime, finished with 538 yards on offense, to 330 for the Wahoos.
🔼 Hoos Make A Splash! Virginia swimmers won five events and set a world record and an American record on Saturday in the final day of competition at the Team USA Short Course World Championship Trials at the FMC Natatorium in Westmont, Ill.!
🔼 On The Water! Virginia rowing smashed the course record in the Women’s Open 8+ and won the 4+ at the Princeton Chase on Sunday on Lake Carnegie in Princeton, N.J.!
🔼 King Of The Court! Virginia men’s tennis’ Dylan Dietrich has won his second consecutive ATP Challenger title!
🔼 Florida Foes. Virginia volleyball welcomed a pair of ACC opponents from the Sunshine State over the weekend, falling to Miami in four sets inside John Paul Jones Arena on Friday before dropping a three-set match to Florida State at Memorial Gymnasium on Sunday.

🔼 Mat Action. Virginia wrestling opened the 2026-27 season in split action at both the Navy Classic and Southeast Open, with success at both — the Hoos had three place winners at the Southeast Open and eight wrestlers went undefeated in pool competition at the Navy Classic!
🔼 Last Round. Virginia men’s golf wrapped up its fall schedule over the weekend in Alabama at the Steelwood Collegiate Invitational, with Jager Pain earning a third-place finish at 13-under par!
🔼 Finish Line. Virginia cross country competed at the ACC Championships in Blacksburg over the weekend, with the women earning a seventh-place finish and the men ninth.
Sean Gray and Stella Kermes earned All-ACC honors after both finished in the top-21 of their respective races.

Grünloh Named to Abdul-Jabbar Award Preseason Watch List. Virginia’s Johann Grünloh was one of 20 players named to the preseason watch list for the 2027 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar Center of the Year Award, the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced Friday (Oct. 30).
