🔼 Test Passed. Virginia men’s basketball had its first big test of the season over the weekend against Villanova, connecting on 14 3-pointers in a 70-60 win over the Wildcats in Baltimore.

Isaac McKneely scored 23 points and was 6-of-6 from deep. Andrew Rohde scored 13 points and Jacob Cofie added 12 to round out the double-digit scorers.

🔼 Moving On. No. 4 seed Virginia women’s soccer earned a come-from-behind victory in the opening round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday, beating Princeton 2-1 to advance to the second round against No. 5 seed Wisconsin.

After giving up a goal in the sixth minute of the match, Yuna McCormack scored the equalizer in the 14th minute and Maggie Cagle added the winner in the 48th minute. Lia Godfrey assisted on both goals.

🔼 Until The End. Virginia field hockey had its season come to an end on Sunday, losing to No. 2 Northwestern in overtime in the NCAA Quarterfinals.

The Hoos weren’t without a win on the weekend, however — a 2-1 win on Friday afternoon over Big Ten Tournament champion Michigan advanced them to Sunday’s matchup with the Wildcats.

🔼 Good Run. Virginia men’s and women’s cross country both earned automatic bids to the NCAA Championships on Friday, as the men won the the Southeast Regional and the women ran to a runner-up finish.

A total of eight Cavalier runners earned All-Region honors — Margot Appleton, Jenny Schilling, Gillian Bushee, Sophie Atkinson, Gary Martin, Will Anthony, Andrew Jones and Nate Mountain.

🔼 Sunday Dub. Virginia women’s basketball improved to 3-1 on Sunday, beating La Salle, 76-47, at John Paul Jones Arena.

Latasha Lattimore collected the first double-double of her career with 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Kymora Johnson led in the scoring department with 20 points. Olivia McGhee added 14, and Yonta Vaughn and Breona Hurd both scored 10.

🔼 Pile ‘Em Up. Virginia volleyball picked up its 20th win of the season out on the West Coast on Friday night, taking down Cal in four sets.

Milan Gomillion was the catalyst for the Hoos, collecting a career-high 37 digs, the second-most in program history. The win was the Hoos’ 10th in ACC play this season.

🔼 Road Woes. Virginia football committed five turnovers in the first half against No. 8 Notre Dame on Saturday, falling 35-14 to the Fighting Irish in South Bend. Here is your postgame coverage from Notre Dame Stadium:
