🔼 Clash Claimed. Put another point in the Smithfield Commonwealth Clash on the board for the Hoos — Virginia women’s soccer took down No. 12 Virginia Tech in Blacksburg on Thursday, 1-0!
Meredith McDermott scored the lone goal of the match, just 12 minutes into the contest.
The Hoos finish the regular season at 12-5 overall and 5-5 in ACC play, and now await seeding for next week’s ACC Championships.

At last year’s ACC Championships in Tallahassee, Fla., both the men’s and women’s teams finished third.

🔼 No. 1 In Town. The surging Virginia volleyball team gets its biggest test of the season today, as No. 1 Pitt travels to Charlottesville for a 7 p.m. match at Memorial Gym.

The Hoos have another ranked visitor on Sunday, welcoming No. 12 SMU for a 2 p.m. matchup. The Mustangs are 7-3 in their inaugural ACC season.

🔼 One More For The Road. No. 3 Virginia field hockey concludes its regular season schedule today, traveling to Winston-Salem, N.C. to play Wake Forest at 5 p.m.
The Hoos are tied with Boston College for third place in the ACC standings at 5-2, while the Demon Deacons sit in sixth place at 2-5.
