🔼 Hurricane Incoming. Virginia women’s soccer hosts Miami this evening, with just one point separating the Hoos and Hurricanes in the ACC standings.

At 2-4-1, Miami sits one spot ahead of Virginia in the conference. A win for the Hoos would leapfrog them over the Hurricanes in the ACC standings.

🔼 Wahoo Catch-Up. Craig Littlepage retired as director of athletics in December 2017, but he hasn’t been idle since then.

🔼 Panther Bit. Virginia volleyball dropped its road match at No. 7 Pittsburgh on Wednesday, 3-0.

It was the Hoos’ third top-15 opponent in their last four matches, along with No. 11 Georgia Tech and No. 6 Louisville.

Virginia is back out on the road again this Sunday, traveling to Raleigh, N.C. to take on NC State.

🔼 Honored Hoos. A pair of Virginia field hockey athletes claimed ACC awards this week!

Striker Taryn Tkachuk was named the co-ACC Offensive Player of the Week, and midfielder Adele Iacobucci was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week for their contributions in a pair of road wins for Virginia last week.

⚔️ Maria Moya Making The Most Of Her Fifth Year. Moya, a Virginia women’s squash player, graduated in May and is now enrolled in a master’s program at UVA.

⚔️ ITA Atlantic Regional Begins Thursday. The tournament will run from Oct. 19-23 in Lynchburg, Va.

⚔️ Littlepage And Ciprian Honored With ACC Unite Award. The award was created to honor individuals affiliated with the ACC who promote and encourage racial equity and social justice through education, partnerships, engagement and advocacy.
