🔼 Basketball Is Back! See you at John Paul Jones Arena tomorrow for the Virginia men’s and women’s basketball Pepsi Blue-White Scrimmages!
🔼 Road Tests. No. 8 Virginia field hockey will be tested with a pair of conference road games this weekend.
The Hoos are at Wake Forest (5-6, 0-3 ACC) today before heading to Durham on Sunday for one of their biggest tests of the season against No. 2 Duke (12-1, 4-0 ACC).
🔼 Another Opportunity. Virginia volleyball has a chance to snap a small losing streak this weekend with road contests at Notre Dame and No. 6 Louisville.
Notre Dame is right in the middle of the ACC standings at 3-3, while Louisville is in a tie for third place at 5-1 in conference action.
🔼 Important One. With one point separating the two teams, Virginia men’s soccer hosts Pitt tonight with the hopes of leapfrogging the Panthers in the ACC standings.
The Hoos haven’t lost in three weeks, with wins over ETSU and Louisville and draws against Hofstra and Boston College during that time. Pitt is yet to win away from home this season.
🔼 Time To Clash. The Smithfield Commonwealth Clash is back!
Virginia and Virginia Tech women’s soccer kick off the rivalry with a 1:30 p.m. contest on Sunday, with the Hoos looking to extended a four-match undefeated streak against the Hokies.
The Smithfield Commonwealth Clash is BACK! The Commonwealth Clash, which started in 2017, is a friendly, statewide rivalry between Virginia and Virginia Tech and their school-sponsored sports.
The school that accumulates 11.5 points or more has been annually crowned the winner and takes home the Commonwealth Clash trophy, presented by Smithfield. The first contest of the 2023-24 academic year will take place on October 15 between Virginia and Virginia Tech women’s soccer.
Oh, and in case you were wondering — Virginia won last year!
