🔼 All-ACC! Virginia women’s basketball guard Kymora Johnson has been named a Preseason All-ACC selection following a vote by the league’s head coaches and Blue-Ribbon Panel!

Along with Johnson’s honor, the Hoos were picked to finish seventh in the ACC.

🔼 Midweek Chat. Virginia football head coach Tony Elliott met with the media on Tuesday to discuss the Hoos’ home game against Washington State this Saturday at 6:30 p.m.!

🔼 Fresh Look. After spending all summer and fall playing against teammates inside John Paul Jones Arena, Virginia men’s basketball is excited for its preseason exhibition schedule, which begins Thursday in Nashville against Vanderbilt.

🔼 Top-10 Win. No. 3 Virginia field hockey earned its 10th win of the season on Tuesday, beating No. 7 Liberty at Turf Field, 1-0.

Caroline Nemec scored less than nine minutes into the game, while the Hoos held the Flames scoreless.

🔼 Level Match. Sebastian Pop’s goal in the 10th minute gave Virginia an early lead, but a second-half Spartan goal forced a draw on Thursday night at Klöckner Stadium. The No. 9 Cavaliers battled No. 19 UNCG to a 1-1 stalemate and remain unbeaten in their last nine outings.

🔼 Up For Grabs. Virginia volleyball is on the road today, traveling to Blacksburg for a Smithfield Commonwealth Clash showdown at Virginia Tech.

Today’s match is the first of a home-and-home week against the Hokies, with the two teams meeting in Charlottesville on Sunday.

🔼 Fast Lap. Virginia swimming’s Anna Moesch and Thomas Heilman have been named the ACC Female and Male Swimmers of the Week, respectively!

These are the first Swimmer of the Week honors for both student-athletes. This is the first time Virginia has earned the conference’s male and female swimmer of the week awards since October 31, 2023, when Connor Boyle and Gretchen Walsh took the honors.

Juan Ramirez Named Assistant Women’s Tennis Coach. Ramirez comes to UVA with a wealth of experience coaching at a high level. He most recently worked at the Piatti Tennis Center in Italy with the professional group program, where he traveled to Futures, Challenger and Junior Grand Slam tournaments with various groups of players, including working with a former world junior No. 1 and 2022 Junior French Open Champion Gabriel Debru. Before that, he spent three years working with UVA men’s tennis alum Alexander Ritschard, helping him rise to No. 145 in the ATP rankings.
