🔼 Cardiac Cavs. Playing a conference opponent on the road is never easy. Playing from behind against that opponent on the road makes it even more difficult.
But neither one of those statements matter to the UVA football squad, who mounted a second-half comeback to earn a thrilling 31-30 road win at Wake Forest on Saturday night.
Anthony Colandrea finished the night 33-of-43 with 347 yards and three TDs, with his two main targets, Malachi Fields and Trell Harris combining for 18 catches, 239 yards and one TD.
Defensively, Antonio Clary led the way with 11 tackles, a sack and the biggest fumble recovery of the night. UVA were frequent visitors in Wake’s backfield, racking up six sacks in the win.

🔼 Major Statement. While he hasn’t played a single match for the Hoos, incoming UVA men’s tennis star Rafael Jodar is already making statements.
The newcomer had quite a weekend in Flushing Meadows as he captured the US Open Junior Boys’ Singles Championship.
Facing off against top-seeded Nicolai Budkov Kjaer, Jodar rallied to take home the title, 2-6, 6-2, 7-6 (10-1) on Saturday. Kjaer was coming off win the juniors championship at Wimbledon earlier this year.
🔼 We’ll Take Two, Please. The depth of this year’s UVA field hockey squad was on full display yet again this past weekend.
The third-ranked Cavs picked up two wins to stay unbeaten, blowing past Temple on Friday (7-0) and winning a thriller on the road on Sunday, 2-1, over 11th-ranked Liberty.
Seven different Hoos have scored in the first three games, including senior Jans Croon, who’s game winner against Liberty came in the final five minutes of the contest.
🔼 Seventh Heaven. The fourth-ranked UVA women’s soccer team wrapped up their non-conference slate the same way they’ve done for the past few weeks, with another win.
Four different Cavs scored to lead UVA to a 4-0 defeat of Howard and a perfect 7-0 record in non-conference action this fall.
UVA has outscored its opposition by a 19-1 ledger heading into ACC play this upcoming weekend.
🔼 We’ll Take Two, Please. Playing at home for the first time this fall, the UVA volleyball squad picked up a pair of wins at the Cavalier Classic to improve to 5-1 to start the 2024 campaign.
After dropping a tough match to Coastal Carolina to start the weekend, the Hoos bounced back for a pair of wins on Saturday, taking down Hofstra (3-1) and Coastal Carolina (3-2).
Elayna Duprey had a career weekend to earn a spot on the All-Tournament team, finishing with 36 kills and 13 digs, including a career-best 20 kill performance against Hofstra.
Teammate Brooklyn Borum also earned a spot on the All-Tourney team with 33 kills and 17 digs on the weekend.
